Default The Search for a "Radio Code"

I recently purchased a 1992 740 Turbo and I do not have the radio security code to unlock the radio. Does anyone know of a way to find the code. Is there a data base somewhere that has them? Thanks for any help with this matter. ~Matthew Hovis

I remembered reading something about radio codes and it was Terry's blog. He found the radio code on a sticker inside the glove box. [http://revolvoblog.blogspot.com] He has an older 240 but it might be worth a look.

I had the same problem. Here is what you do, contact your local VOLVO dealer and all you need is a photo id and the cars registration with the VIN# and they will go into there computer and pull it up in about 5 seconds. If your local dealer is far, you can fax them over your id and so on and they will still give you the code. This is all free. Hope you get the radio working!!

p.s. Keep the code in a safe place, because when you disconect the Batt. for any reason you will need to enter it again.

hope i helped.

Of course if someone has changed out your radio...................
well, then you will need the vin # off the "replacement" radio

If you replace with a stock unit the Dealer can get the radio serial number off the radio and get the code for the radio.

I finnaly found the radio code in the old owners manual. Apparently one of the many owners of this fine automobile was smart enough to write it down. That was the last place I ever would have thought of looking for it. It just seemed too easy. Thanks for the help! ~Matthew Hovis
