Seat covers
Anyone know where I can find some relativly good seat covers for my 740 sedan that are not leather, feels like leather, or wool? I have a set and it doesnt fit the seat correctly. I tend to get a little dirty at work working with sealant and jet fuel. It also tends to get hot where I'm at, so anything black is out of the question.

get the full custom ones, in your fabric of choice. the 'vel-quilt' are very close to the OEM fabric seats. get some small hog rings and some hog ring pliers to help secure them to the bottom edges of the seat for the best fit. remove the headrests before installing, and I'd leave the headrests uncovered, but thats your call.
if your driver seat lower cushion is sagging, fix that first.

Best bet are the Pick n Pull yards, as your car will accept 940 or 960 seats as well. Cheaper to change the whole seat or even better just get the cushions and the back rest cover and put them on you car's seats. The only real hard ones to find are Beige Leather seats... Greys, all cloth ones are all over the place.

indeed, I put 1997-98 S90 seats in my 1992 745T. had to wire power for the drivers seat, had to switch the seatbelt latches, the car's seatbelts will bolt up to any of these seats. I had to trim a square loop that stuck up on the back of the rails of the S90 seats so the 740 trim would fit over the rear bolts. the side trim panels/pockets are interchangable, too. the S90 had the inboard-reel sort of seatbelt, so I had to use its trim on the 740's driver side since it was hte power seat controls, the non-reel end of the 740's seatbelt bolts right up to where the s90's reels were.
I do note that they changed the connector for power seats, the later seats have bigger pins, while older versions like my son's 91 940SE have thinner pins, and while they look the same, the connectors aren't interchangable.

Hi, I posted a question about Coverking covers today but then saw this thread. Do you have any advice for replacing cloth seat covers on a 98 V70? The fabric for the front seats all split along the seams, making it impossible to sew back together. The back seats are going too.
Thanks, Lisa
