Default Service Light Reset (1990 Volvo 240 DL)

I've searched on multiple posts on this forum, and multiple forums on the web.. but the answer has been way too inconsistent to make sense. I have a 1990 Volvo 240 DL with a service light that just recently started coming on. All I know about this light, is that it comes on every 5000 miles and stays illuminated for 2 minutes after the car is started. I've heard that thebutton is a switch, located behind the instrument cluster. But, I took the knee guard off and I can't seem to locate it anywhere. Is there another location that it could be in?

I have the same car. There's a lever (not a switch) right next to the speedo on the backside meaning you need to pull the cluster. Pop off the headlight ****, the dimmer ****, then the two plastic covers on the right side of the instrument cluster and you can get to the 4 phillips screws that hold the cluster in place. You also have to remove the litttle piece of trim below the headlight **** and the plastic cover behind the steering wheel. If you have small hands you can get in there to move the lever. I think it goes downwards to reset the light. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I actually figured it out. Instead of removing the cluster, i removed the kick panel (two torque bolts) and with a flashlight, i was able to see a small lever encased in a piece of (white) plastic. I pulled it down, and PROBLEM SOLVED! thanks for all your help. now i won't have to worry about this crap for another 5000 miles =P
