Default Are the signals to the temp gauge and tachometer the same in a 740 -88 and 960 -91?

Hi!

I'm currently putting a B6304F from a 960 -91 in a 740 -88. Right now I'm working with the electrics of the temperature gauge and the tachometer. The tachometer in the 740 has a red-white wire, and the temperature gauge has two yellow wires. Would the gauges work if I just connect the tachometer signal wire in the 740 to the rpm output on the 960 ECU, and the temp gauge wires to the temperature sensor on the 960 engine? Or are the signals and gauges different between the two so it'll give a false reading? I've heard this might be a problem when doing a T5 swap.

The tach measures ignition pulses - the 740 tach will look for 4 pulses in 2 rpms and the 960 tach is looking for 6 pulses. So the 740 tach will not indicate correctly. Temp sensors - Don't think a 740 sensor is going to fit in a 960 head - measure the resistance (in each sensor) at various temps to see if they are similar - Below is a chart I found in vida with resistance values.
