Lately ive had some idleing issues, normally itd idle at 600 rpms as a normal parked idle, and now its around 1000 sometimes all the way up to 1500 at times. Does dip after 5-10 minutes back to normal. This morning it started up at 1000 and didnt dip so i just drove to school, the 2 mile commute, at a stop light it was low and shakey at 4-500 and then when i was parked dipped to just above 0. Wasn't sputtering at all just super low revs. Then i just turned it off. I turned it on after class and was at the normal 600 and drove fine. When i got home, checked oil, air, sparks the normal, which still need to be replaced, and the oil filler cap smelled of gas.. Any ideas or to help?

Im waiting for some parts to come in so i can do the oil change and air filter and sparks.

 

As weird as it sounds, check the oil and smell the dipstick. Fuel in the crank case is most often a result of a faulty fuel pressure regulator.

The fpr will put gas in your oil!
