my 89 240 speedometer does not work. It has a sensor at the rear end. The wire connection seems tite. Has anyone changed out one of these sensors? Can they be cleaned and start working again? Do the wires ever come lose at the instrurment panel or do I have to spend $116 for a new sensor. Does anyone know where one could be had cheaper?

 

Checking the connection at the instrument cluster is pretty easy, I would try that first. I've had a connector come loose from the cluster before. I've never done the speed sensor before though.
