Spoiler

that doesn't look like any factory spoiler I've seen.
but, you'll probably need to drill holes in the trunk lid, you'll likely need to upgrade the gas struts that hold the trunk open, and you'll be wiring it in place of the 3rd brake light (if you wire it to the left or right brake light, you'll be unbalancing the current on them, and triggering the bulb failure circuit).

Must be some rare accessory option, never seen this one before... I had a 1991 740 SE which has a smaller lip spoiler colored to the car, it attached with no holes into the trunk, it was glued and had some side clamps. Doubt you'll find the hardware to attach this one. Be careful not to ruin your car attaching this thing... I am not surprised it wasn't very popular.

the factory spoiler on my Jetta GLI was mounted with rubber expansion plugs in the predrilled holes in the trunk. Volvo also used those to mount the roof racks on the wagons that were so equipped. does the bottom of the spoiler have threaded nut inserts ?
use a metal punch rather than a drill for any holes, they are probably 1-2cm in diameter, smooth the edges of the hole, and primer and paint them to defer rust. you drill a small pilot hole for the metal punch, assemble it, then tighten the bolt to drive the punch through the sheet metal, making a clean hole, then take it apart.
ok, I just looked in my 2005-vintage Volvo parts catalog, don't think that spoiler came stock on any model 740, was probably a dealer installed aftermarket accessory.

in the early 90s, Volvo was marketing their safety/reliability messaging not sport. Body kits were more widely seen in Europe than the US and IMHO, ruined the body lines and simple elegance of the styling. While the 700/900s were a departure from the boxy look of the 200s, they were still angular with no soft lines which makes bolt ons stand out (not a good aesthetic).

It's an old post but we installed the same spoiler. If you search the volvo part number on the spoiler you can see a picture of the parts that are no longer available. It will also bring up the additional trunk supports that were required. That is how I found this post, looking for the additional support mounts because I am getting tired of having to prop the trunk lid open to get anything out of it.
The spoiler looks good on red cars which is the color of my sons sedan also.
