Wondering if parts between 1987 model year , brakes, alternator etc are interchangeable with 1988 model year for a 240dl?

 

I usually use online stores (EEuroparts, FCPEuro, IPD, etc.) to check compatibility of parts across years. Just look up a part for one year and then check the same part for the second year. If part is the same then they are compatible.

 

I also use dealer web stores like tasca parts to find the Volvo OEM part number then search on that - including eBay and Volvo friendly online stores. Dealer stores are useful in finding part number breaks (ie up serial number xxx etc).

 

Probably 99%, or more, parts are compatible between 1987 and 1988 240.
