Hey everyone, I have an 84' 240 and just recently it has been sputering when it needs power. Mostly up hill and if i press the throttle down too much it just gives out. Its died twice so far but started right back up. It still starts up fine but keeps sputtering. Im thinking its the fuel filter, any ideas?? Its my only way to work and school so I need to fix it asap and input is appreciated.

 

Check the distributor. Once I had mine sputter under any moderate throttle because there was engine degreaser under the cap. So I would check all things ignition: cap and rotor condition, plug wire condition and the plug condition and gap.
