Default standard gear problem

Hi, I am having a problem with first and second gear with my 1993 240. It's a 5 speed standard, and I have problems inserting first and second gear but only when the engine is warm, other gears work just fine at any time. It's weird, but when I start the car in the morning 1st and 2 nd go in no problem, as soon as the car warms up and I come to a stop I am having a hard time inserting first and second. The clutch is good, no slipping or anyting else. It's just weird that it does it only when it's cold.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you

I would check the manual transmission fluid level. I ran mine dry one time (never thought to check) and it eventually got nearly impossible to put it in gear (different car than yours but similar issue).

Thanks, I got the gear box oil filled, it made it a little better, but we found a lot of metal on the gear box drain plug. My mechanic said tha the 1st and 2nd gear syncro is bad.
Any ideas what it takes to replace?
How much am I looking at to spend?
Any ideas?
Thanks for the response.
