Its pretty sweet, its a 82 242 turbo thats been stroked out to 2.3...now the only thing is, it makes horrible rackets. now my question is, do normal stroker kits make volvo motors sound like theyr about to rip them selves apart? any ideas?

 

I doubt it should sound like that. DId you build it your self?

 

I acutally didnt build it myself, I cant remember who built it, the guy i bought it from had it built, then went over seas befor he could get the head put on and the motor finished, so all i did was put the head on, turbo, radatior...all that stuff and fire it up, it runs perfect, excpet for the pounding coming from the block...so im going to just go easy on it and really break it in and see what happens, if it does blow a rod, i have an extra block i can just build up myself and throw it in

You might want to have it looked at soon. If it is making racket then something must be wrong.

They are pretty quick when bored out like that.
We have a customer that blew his motor a while ago and the only Pistons we could get for it was .30 over. So we had to have the block bored and installed everything with the stock turbo and it is pretty fast. It is also a manual tranny car.
