Sudden massive oil leak 240
Hello, I let my 240 sit for a week in the freezing cold while I was on vacation. I drove the car for a day and it spat all of the oil around the front engine and alternator area. I took it to the shop and they cleaned the engine and confirmed it wasn't leaking again. I drove it for two days and it spat out the oil again. I have read that it could possibly be the flametrap or head gaskets leaking and am wondering what everyone thinks. It did hold oil for a couple of days.

well, the flame trap (which is the volvos version of PCV) gets clogged up, then the pressure inside the engine needs somewhere to go., and the first thing that blows out is often the front camshaft seal, causing the engine to burp oil out the top of the front. other seals that can blow include the rear camshaft seal, and the main crankshaft seals (front or rear). valve cover gaskets can leak too, thats the gasket right under the cover on the very top of the engine
so, if this is the case, you need to clean the flame trap AND fix the leaking seal.
head gasket leaks are between the head and the block, this gasket is below under the intake and exhaust manifold... the one I suffered leaked coolant under the #3 exhaust port.
