Default Temp. Question.

Hey all i own a 91 740 turbo 4 door. And i jsut have a question about the temp. guage. My car works fine and nothing is wrong, but my temp guage is always in the middle after my car warms up, it is not overheating or acting funny at all. I just see that in other cars (not Volvos) the temp guage is not in the middle, but rather a quarter of the way even after running for a while. So could this mean that somehting is wrong or is it just the way volvos are? Thanks a lot.

volvos have a temperature compensation board that keeps the needle in the middle over a wide range of temperatures. it is a bad idea. I want to know what the temperature of the engine is not be supprised. There is a way to remove the board if you have troubles with it or dont like the idea. What you are seeing is normal.

I think they were done with the comensation board in the 1991 740.
But that is about normal for that car.
