I am preparing to install a set OEM fog lights to a 1992 240GL and need to know if you drill the hole in the aluminum plate under the bumper, or in the black plastic bumper itself. It would seem to be stronger going through the aluminum plate. Any advice is appreciated.

I believe they bolt to the Aluminum Bumper support.

 

That is what I thought, but just wanted to make sure before I started drilling holes.
