While i was at a wendys picking up my food i noticed that when im driving slowly there is this soft metallic TICK TOCK noise that sounds like its coming from the rear end. Am i flirting with disaster?

 

maybe its something with the rear differential. When was the last time you changed the fluid? Hopefully its just that and nothing too serious. I did it recently on my 240 wagon and it was a night and day difference with smoothness on the highway.

 

I topped off the fluids with the right oil. (did not take allot).

I then jacked up one side of the car and started it and put it in drive. It did not make the noise.

I then did the other side, and again it did not make the noise.

How did you replace your fluid? did you take the back plate off?
