tie rod adjustment

Default tie rod adjustment

I have a 89 740 wagon that has slack in the drivers side tie rod was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this problem and adjust the tie rod to take out the slack. thankyou.

Well you need to replace the tie rod end,there's no adjustment to take out the slack.The car is twenty years old,so I would replace inner and outer tie rod ends on both sides.Also replace the boots while your at it.Now you need to identify your steering rack,it could be either a zf or cam gear.See attachments on how to identify.
