Default Timing

Correct me if I am wrong, but on a 1990 240 DL, the timing is controlled by the ECU and is not adjustable, right??

You are correct. The timing pulse is generated from the Crank Position Sensor and is used by the ECU for fuel injection and the ICU for timing mark. All advance is controlled by the computer.
