Please advise. Replaced output shaft bushing and seal, and while cleaning up for gasket, noticed play in the shaft .Is there a bearing that needs replaced as well? If so can it be done without dropping tranny?

 

end play as in in/out, or side to side play? I don't know what the specs are (a transmission rebuilder might) but I'd hazard to guess that ANY side to side play is seriously bad. and AFAIK, thats take-the-tranny-apart-and-rebuild-it-time...
