Hello,
I have a 94 940 with an automatic transmission that slips when in drive shifting up.
However, if I shift it manually it shifts considerately tighter. what might the problem be?
Is it an affordable repair?

Sounds like it may be a reasonably inexpensive repair...check to see if the downshift cable is properly adjusted.
