Trim replacement questons

Is it the bottom trim(at the base of the door) or the shiny trim in the middle of the door? The bottom trim does not have clips only 2 guide tabs that go into a couple of holes in the door. The rest is just adhesive. Most are ready to fall off but some are stuck on there good. I use ether guitar string or heavy dental floss to remove it(I put the floss against one end of the trim and with an up and down sawing motion I cut through the adhesive with no issues or damage.
If it is that center trim and you are replacing the clips and trim then use a trim remove tool(they sell them at stereo stores(to remove dash trim)

Thanks! I was thinking that a screwdriver might scratch the paint and I found the plastic tools online. I didn't know to Google for stereo trim tools.
Now about the lower 3 inch wide panels. Mine are missing on both front doors. I got replacement panels from the Aftermarket replacement headlights, taillights and turn signals for VOLVOS folks in Orange New Jersey.
Please comment on my procedure:
Remove the leftover glue from the panels and the doors.
Heat the panels with a heat gun (can I use a hair dryer?),
Use heavy duty polyurethane glue (400) and large alligator clamps.
Rig up a jack to put pressure on the front of the door where I can't put a clamp.
Did I get it right?
Thanks, Sarah

I think I'd use double sided tape on those rather than glue. stop at a body shop somewhere, ask them what they use, see if they'll sell you some. clean both surfaces thoroughly, peel one side of the tape and put it on the trim piece, trim the edges off the tape, then peel the other side and press it onto the car. you get one try to get it right
I'd also recommend doing this on a warm day. that kind of stuff doesn't like cold.
