I believe its a mitsubishi td05 turbo. stock boost is a rather mild 8 or 10 PSI

the guys over on the turbobrick forum are the gurus of maxxing those things out, and have pretty much cookbook lists of stage 0,1,2,3,4,5 HP boosts. the higher you go, the more silly expensive it gets, but some of them have gotten the 2.3 up to around 400HP with extreme measures. 250HP is supposedly quite doable. the higher you go, the more stuff breaks.

The good news is your 94 motor has piston oilers or "squirters". This redesigned "L" block uses the oil squirters to cool the piston skirts and enables higher boost levels and virtually eliminates piston slap as the motor ages. Your stock injectors, intercooler and turbo are good to 14 psi or so as long as you run premium gasoline. A manual boost controller will allow you to increase the boost. The car has an overboost switch under the dash to preclude unintended fun. It will need to be bypassed. Before I did much of that, I'd make certain all the vac hoses are replaced...much simpler than replacing them piecemeal.
