I have a good nonturbo engine from a 240dl with only 80k mile on it, and I also have a 740 turbo intercooler that may need to be replace , can I use the 240 engine in the 740 with the same trannie (740) ?

 

The 240 engine will not have the hole for the Turbo returm line to go into at the block.

What exactly is wrong with the 740?

 

no power long time throttle

i don't care if i can't use the turbo in this case just would like to put this good 240 engine to use, everything under the 240 hood is good
the body is a rust bucket

Yes do that before you put out that engine.
