Hey all. I was talking to a friend and he said that people that own Volvos sometimes put a larger engine in the car like a 302 or a 350 even. I can see this being totally possible due to the large engine bay. Now I am in no rush to do this to my 740, but if I was to do it where would I go to get an engine, like a create engine or something like that. I also heard that the tranny only needs one extra plate if you were to drop a bigger engine in the car. Is this true? Thanks a lot I hope I was clear.

 

I think that you want to put a bigger engine in your 740? well i was thinking of the same thing to do to my volvo 940, but i know this will be very expensive, because i want more power but the cash issue :S someone knows how much will it cost? i have a 1995 volvo 940, 2.3 L4 NON-TURBO

 

Yes i do haha. I have seen complete create engines online for 3000 and up. But i assume it will cost more than that when you are all said and done. Good looking volvo by the way.

Alot of people buy a wrecked Lincon Mark8 or something with a Ford V-8 in it.
Because you will need the wiring harness and computer.
Go to Cardomain.com and look in there under Volvo then 740. There is some in there.

There is also someone building a Twin Turbo Vette engine. For his 740 wagon.

There is a place by me here in Fla that does it.
