Valve Cover Gasket

Valve Cover Gasket
Ok so I recently picked up a 1990 740T .....cleaned the engine compartment and after 2 or 3 weeks there seems to be oil around the front/passenger side of the engine...some on top and on the surrounding hoses etc.
Does this sound like a valve cover gasket to you guys or could there be another problem going on?
No extremely familiar with the car yet so any help would be awesome
thanks!

RE: Valve Cover Gasket
Check the flame trap and oil trap and hoses, they're kinda under the intake manifold and tough to get at but important to keep clear, its cheap insurance to replace them.
You're probably getting oil blowby at the oil filler cap, order a new cap seal at the same time.

1 more question guys/gals
i noticed a lot of burnt oil buildup on the following.....
there is a large hose coming from the air filter and out of that a smaller hose with a sensor on it that goes up over the engine to the manifold at that branch i noticed a lot of oil
does this tube carry oil?
my oil cap drips a bit but doesnt seem to be too much
help help i want to figure this one out!
