I am having a difficult time trying to fine any concrete info concerning compatability. What models are compatable to a 94 940 wagon concerning part interchangability such as doors/windows/body trim/molding ect? I am trying to find such parts at various salvage yards and before I make that plunge I want to ensure fitament.

Any guidance or link to such concerning what years/models that are compatable would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on what parts you are talking about! There is no "guide" as such. Doors, windows, all 940, even 740 will swap. Trim, moldings, depends...

 

Most junkyards will print you out a list of volvos that have the same parts as yours.But it depends on the part,too. If you have a pick-n-pull near you, they'll do that for you. You can always call the Dealer parts dept, and bug them for info.

 

in 91 they made some trim changes, coinciding with the 'new' 940 (which was virtually the same car as the 740). All 940 1991-1995 body parts are pretty much the same, but note there are two different headlight styles depending on year and trim, and these have different side marker lights, and a different grill.

style 2 was more commonly seen on 1991-1992 740's but I've seen lower equipped 940s with these.

 

Thank you all for your replies. I was mainly concerned with door glass, and door/windshield glass trim. Unfortunately is seems like the older volvos are all crushed out in the majority of yards in my area. I guess it's time to search other states.
