Volvo 240 1990 Sedan Sags in back- Could rear axel/drivetrain not be original?
My 1990 Volvo 240 Sedan sits lower in the back(kind of like a sagging look) than most Volvo's of its kind. I have measured other Volvos in parking lots in they are about 5 iniches higher in the back. I have replaced the coils and the shocks but still did not raise the back end. I bought my Volvo at a mom and pop Volvo shop that had a graveyard full of Volvo's. I am wondering...is it possible that the rear drive train/axel is not original volvo 240? Could it be that the rear drive train/axel was from a different Volvo model rigged to fit on my 240?

FIVE INCHES? I demand photos!! Frankly, the best solution may be to lower the front an equal amount and sell it to the guys on turbobricks!! j/k!
As has been mentioned, anything is possible but with the abundance of 240 axles out there it would be silly to use anything else. 740's have totally different suspension set ups and thus the attachment points are totally different. So, generally the guts (which can be the same) are swapped from one to the other rather than the entire assembly.
