Re-installing original radio in '88 240 DL sedan?
Hi Folks,
I recently bought an '88 240 DL that had an newer stereo installed at some point. The previous owner took their new stereo with them and just slipped the old radio (CR-712) back in the slot. Problem is, the wiring from the car to the radio had been cut and replaced with a newer ISO-type connector that I believe is stereo-specific. So, I have no way of knowing how to rewire the old radio back, since not too many of the wire colors match.
See the attached photos of the new plug.

RE: Re-installing original radio in '88 240 DL sedan?
Thanks for that. I'd seen this same diagram on the web describing various years' models and wasn't sure if it would work for an '88. I ended up going to a junk yard and finding an intact male plug connected to the original wires that I clipped and installed in my 240. Radio works!
