Default Volvo 240 86 station Fuel problem

Alright so i have had a lot of work done to my Volvo 240 86 station wagon dealing with the fuel line. Got a new pre-pump, main fuel pump, fuel pump relay and the ignition coil all new and installed. But my Volvo still sometimes bogs down on me. And will not catch trying to start it. Frustration wont start sometimes after all this work and leaving me stranded. What do you think it is?

You looked at the fuel pressure regulator or the engine temp sensor? You got any vacuum leaks? I'd eliminate those first.

i'd start at the vacuum leaks, and intake air duct leaks (between the MAF and the engine), THEN test the temp sensor (easy test, just need a digital multimeter), then look at the fuel pressure (easiest to find someone with a fuel pressure tester and have them do the test for you).

oh, quick fuel pressure regulator test tho... unplug the vacuum line behind the FPR, is it wet with fuel residue? if so, then the FPR goes up to the top of the suspect list and should be replaced immediately.

find another LH2.2 car (msot any 240/740 1985-1988, they all use -007 MAF's) and swap the MAF with it. its 2 about minutes with a screwdriver. if the other car inherits your problems and yours works, then yes, you need a MAF, give the guy his MAF back and find one in a junkyard or whatever..

watch out for noname rebuilds. quality is all over.
