Volvo 240 Hot Start Problem?!
Alright, so not much wrong with the 240, however it does have problems on warm starts. It drives fine, no power loss or anything, just hard to get started once the motors warmed. Should add, that when the engine is cold, it starts right up and seems to idle fine.
From limited research, I’d assume it’s he coolant temp sensor for the ecu, not the gauge. From what I understand it basically tries to start the car as if it was a cold start?
Also was told to check the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line for the smell of fuel. I checked, and it does smell like fuel. Could this be causing this issue?
I feel like a bad fuel pressure regulator would cause cold start problems too?
Any guesses?
Should also add, the gauge goes straight to hot even if the engine is cold.

Bad fuel pressure regulator can cause hard warm starts. Best way to check it is to put a fuel pressure gauge on the rail and measure it. Here is a good description https://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-9...sure_Regulator

When my FPR was letting go I did not get fuel coming out of the vacuum line but if I let my car idle for a period of time it would start running real rich and start stumbling, if I let it idle longer it would eventually flood out and stall. I had no hard starts hot or cold.
