Volvo 240, which muffler?
So, I'm still not exactly sure which one is the muffler and which is the resonator. I ran my car with the cat partially detached for a day and it was excessively loud, but there were parts of the rev range that sounded really good IMO. But then there were also parts that were really droney and annoying. It'd be great to find a middle ground between stock and open header.
What's the sound difference between deleting the middle and the back mufflers?

goes like this
Header
Downpipe
CAT
Resonator
Muffler
I ran my 91' 240 deleting one of each, my CAT is hollow and with that alone it was deafening.
The resonator is next and that alone sounded like a farm tractor but not bad
the cat + rear most muffler sounded the best, however at highway speeds can be kinda loud. If I was younger and not married that would be my setup.
Preferred setup is either stock system, or IPD's sport system which is slightly higher flow and deletes the Resonator.
with a welder your an probably put on the turbo version, however I've heard about some bad results from that including backfires and loss of back pressure (probably causing the backfires)
