To explain the problem I have to describe the story of the car. A few months ago the car began to stall out while driving. We suspected it was the MAF and after checking it we learned it had died so we changed it, still the car kept sputtering and dying. We checked the distributor next and turned out it had somehow broken. We changed it and it ran fine for a few weeks then bam it died again. I had already bought the parts so decided to change everything I could, fuel pump,secondary pump,fuel pressure regulator and bought a new Hall Sensor for the distributor and a new computer (since the old one had a broken casing do to a crash the old owner had].

Now the car turned roared to life, the engine sounding pristine everything great. Only problem is now it won't accelerate, and what I mean by that is I can push the gas pedal all the way down and it won't do anything, so I decided I would accelerate it by hand,so I went and did it and nothing.

So my question is what could be the problem? Could it be the throttle assembly or the cable? Thanks in advance.

 

Does the throttle move when you push the accelerator? This is an easy check - you just need an extra helper to push the accelerator. If it doesn't move, then either your accelerator cable is broken or has come loose.

How do you "accelerate by hand"?
