Hello!

I'm new here, my name is Edward. I'm looking at purchasing a 1990 Volvo 740 GL. Does anybody here have any recommendations as far as what to look out for, common problems, etc.? The seller is only asking $700, and there's some cosmetic damage, but it doesn't look too bad from the ad.

I own a 91 740. Its a great car as long as you take care of them. One common problem is that the Crankshaft position sensor will likely go out if it hasnt been replaced. If it the sensor is malfuction the car wont start.I went through a lot of parts and research to find out that it was just a sensor that take 10 seconds to replace. other than that they are sweet cars.

I had a 740 GLE, '87. It was by far the most economic car that I have ever owned. Sweet ride.
