Volvo 740 Project, still need help thanx
So far I made progress until the other day. After cleaning the intake manifold, throttle body, and replacing the fuel filter, lines and completely draining the fuel tank my 740 started, and beautifully i might add. It was quiet and had response it once had. Then I got it on the road, it chugged really rough, and died out as if completely fuel starved. Now when i try to start it after priming the fuel by turning the ingnition a few and getting pressure from the pump it starts for like less than a second. I believe it may be the injectors but before i spend money i might like another opinion.

Is the check engine light on? Often a clue there. Try unplugging the air mass meter/mass air flow sensor and see if it will stay running. If it does, yours may have gone bad. I should mention that it will not run perfectly with the AMM unplugged; it goes into "limp home" mode, but if it stays running when it wouldn't before, that's a pretty strong indicator that it needs replacing. I've had them go out often enough that I carry a spare..
