ok so here is the deal, on my 87 244 i have an aftermarket temp guage with a probe and I installed it into the drain petcock thats in the block on the 'cold' side. so my question is what is the normal temp. for that location? i have a 190 thermostat with electric fans and i need to set the fans to come on and there tyed into the guage. i do know that if my guage is reading 190 i can feel the motor just lugging and getting waaay to hot. so whats the normal temp on the cold side? any ideas would be great.

 

I think about 190 or so is normal.
