You can get new cranks from a lot of sources. I have a 2.5l penta crank for my engine.


There are 2.7, 3.0.... 2.5l is most common and cheapest.

 

Which one would be used to build a stroker engine?

 

All of them can be used.

But very pricey.

The penta boat engines had the 2.5l crank. I have matching rods and pistons from rsi for my engine im building.

You can make good power on stock long block. Start there.

It will not take much to reach 250whp. Plenty do with cam, turbo, injectors and chips/ tune.

 

Cool thanks i just figure if you are going to build it than do it the first time so you dont have to do it again. Especially if you are paying for machining. You cant just use the rods from the engine that the crank comes out of. Thats the cheap way to build a 383

 

Are you talking about the water supply line that comes off the water pump on the passenger side of the block, to feed the heater core?
That source would have plenty of water pressure to feed the water line for the turbo.

 

Im going to go try and find the correct banjo bolts and hard lines this weekend so i can tap the heater hoses. That was what i figured that they would be fine to do. I just had to be sure since this is my first volvo build.

 

I have a TDO4H-13C turbo,('93 940T) manufacture # 49189-01000 that I would like to rebuild or have it rebuilt by someone (any suggestions please). Can anyone tell me a good place to purchase a complete rebuild kit for this turbo? I have seen some kits for it but they don't seem to come with all the parts; like the: crush rings, gaskets, etc. I would also consider a complete unit ready to bolt on if there is one out there. Please let me know what's out there. Thanks

 

when I googled 'volvo turbocharger rebuild' a couple years ago, I found a bunch of rebuilders, several seemed pretty legit. if I recall, it was about $300 after core refund for a totally rebuilt and rebalanced turbo. so far, my turbo is working great, so I've not actually needed to replace it yet
