What type timing light for LH Volvo/Chrysler ignition
Can anyone tell me if I can use a non-inductive timing light on my 86 245? This one is the older kind with the springy coil that connects between the spark plug and the plug wire. Or do I need to find an inductive type that clips on to the cable? I DONT want to do something that might fry my ECU;but I need to check the timing and for a possible slipping crank pulley. (I have the two piece kind). Thanks, guys, in advance for your time.
I don't think you need to. it is controlled by your ignition module, for a lack of the proper word, it is by the windshield wiper reservoir. Hit your three marks on Camshaft, Crank pulley at zero, and distributor mark.
