Been looking for stock wheels in steel or alloy to fit the 1988 240 sedan. Any ideas of where to find them? Used or new makes no difference.

 

Depends on where you are, try junk yards, Volvo specialty yards, Craiglist ads, etc.

All the junk yards in this area have nothing available for the rear wheel drive model Volvos. The car-parts.com is interesting, but from what I have found is no yard has the rims they say they have. Must be the yards are lax in updating the status of stock on hand.

 

i’ve picked up two complete sets of steel wheels for 240s via c-list in the past 8 months.

 

Have not seen a Volvo 240, 740, 940 or 960 on local CL in the past year. Wheels not there either. Hate to have them mailed to me as it will cost quite a bit in freight. 10 years ago there was a Volvo mechanic that specialized in 240's and had a huge inventory of parts, but he has since retired and sold everything off. No local source anymore.

etc etc. there's other similar places to this, that collect the rims from the various wrecking yards, refinish them, and resell them
