Windhield Wiper Problem
1990 Volvo 240DL.
My wipers have been working fine. Suddenly last week, they stop working as I am driving to work in a light rain (thankfully). I get to work and park in a covered garage and check to see if it is a fuse problem. The horn work, so it is not a fuse. I try the wipers again and they now work??
I use the wipers for the last week - no problem. Then I drive in today, again luckily in a light rain, and they stop again. The horn works, but the wipers do not this time.
An thoughts? Could it be a ground wire problem? or ? If it is a ground wire, where would that be?
Might there be a connection between the fact that the windshield that was replaced leaks and the water trickles down by the fuse box?
Or could there be water getting in to the wiper motor? I just replaced the motor from one I had in an older Volvo.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
thanks

Could be the motor. You will need to test the motor with a test light while it is working so you know where power should be. Then when it stops working test it again and see if you still have power there.
This happened to me with my 240. I was driving along in Atlanta trafic (light rain) and the wippers sorta started to flinch. The next heavy rain and they up and quit on me...thank god for rush hour. In my case it was a fuse that had a bad conection.
