Default Yet another wet floorboard discussion

OK, the carpet on the passenger side of my wife's car got wet after a big rain. Today, I went searching high and low for a definitive solution to fixing it. I found a post somewhere on the Brickboard that showed pulling away the carpet from the side of the footwell and exposing the round plastic plugs that allow for access into the nether space inside the rocker panel(?) to pull out leaves and such. I duck-taped a thin-ish plastic hose to my shop vac and went to town. I gotta say, I don't know if I actually got anything substantial out of there, but that's not for lack of effort. I heard of some drain holes along the pinch welds underneath the car, and found one just rearward of the forward jack point on the passenger side (where the carpet was wet), and it was clear. On the driver's side, I could not find that drain. Is this a problem? On my dead 240, there are drains on both sides, just wondering if there were any that did not have drains on the driver's side.

When I started, the carpet was dry (I had told here initially to run the foot heater vent on high for a few days while it wasn't raining), but there was water underneath the rubber mat under the carpet. I vacuumed and soaked up as much water as I could, but then I noticed a strip of of the carpet was surface wet right along where the footwell slopes up from the floorboard. What could cause that?

Also, the passenger side rear footwell has been getting wet as well. Where is the water coming from to get there?

P.S. It's not from the sun roof; I've already cleaned those drains out quite well, and I've gotten the sunroof locked in place (part of the mechanism wasn't working, so I simply blocked it inside so the whole thing is locked in the closed position). I'm even thinking about removing the sunroof handle and caulking the seal. Neither of us has any use for the sun roof.

Windshield leaks are common - the windshield is glued in, and the glue comes loose in a section.

Water get in the rear area by - flowing under the seat -

You can check the rocker panel drains on a 240 by pouring water in the grill between the hood and the windshield - all that water drains out of the rocker panel.
