Default 1989 760Turbo 86,300 miles - stalls while driving

I bought my car in 1992 had 39,999 miles, only 1 owner. I have not only kept up with the scheduled main. but some years I was able to service before it was needed. Never really had any problems, of course, replaced parts when needed, never have had trouble starting the car, respected the turbo cooling time after long trip. Recently the car just stalled. Twice after being towed to a repair, told that there was nothing wrong, car started up died after a couple minutes of driving. Has anyone ever experienced this problem? I could handle the stall if I was driving a stick, but I was lucky it didn't die on the freeway. Any advice or where the mechanic should begin try to find the problem would be very appreciated. I do not have much experience in posting, please let me know if I am breaking any rules.

The simple stuff first. Fuel filter, fuel relay, pump.
Check for mil codes.
