1995 960 stuck in reverse

1995 960 stuck in reverse
Hi New to the forum
Have had my 1995 960 wagon for a while now
Pulled into a parking lot and parked it.
Got back into it, put the car into reverse and backed out of the parking space. Went to put it into drive and the SHIFTER is all loosy goosy Moves through ALL the selections and stuck in reverse.
Backed it into a parking spot, and turned off the car.
Will not start (of course cuz stuck in reverse...)
The shifter moves back and forth without pushing the **** button.
No codes No flashing lites on the w/s/e/ selecter switch buttons
Any hints??? THANKS!!
