How difficult is it to replace piston rings on a 1996 960 Wagon? Has everything under the oil pan to be removed? Unable to remove the engine, so I have to work from underneath... Also: How do you turn the headlight wipers on? Gator

Hmmm... Are you SURE the rings need replacements? Volvos rarely wear rings under normal conditions... And if they do need to be changed, it's not a job I'd take on lightly.

As Tech has answered in your other post you should be looking for burnt valves before a major engine overhaul.

How do you turn the headlight wipers on?
They should come on when you activate the windscreen wash. The headlight wash will also activate and the headlight wipersshould make 3 passes.
