760 Turbo Intercooler GLE Not starting
Hello,
im new on this forum, ive found some good advice reading the few posts i have when there has been problem with my mums car.
I have been able to sort out the few minor ****les, however the car will now not start.
the RAC man and the local mechanic has told her that the injectors are not getting any power and that it might be the ECU.....
I thought it might be the ignition coil( if they have one??)
Does anyone know of any issues with this car which might setle it.. if not does anyone know where i can get an ECU for one??
Its a great car and she loves driving it so id like to try and fix it for her.
sorry for my 1st post being a bit of a ramble????
its a H Reg 91 760 GLE Intercooler ( 2.2 T i think)
thanks

RE: 760 Turbo Intercooler GLE Not starting
By your description of the car you are on my side of the Atlantic. Production of the 760 turbo ended in 1990 but yours may have been held over to '91 for registration.
They do have an ignition coil but this would not stop power to the injectors. Before dashing out to buy a new ECU have you checked the fuel injection relay which is in the fuse/relay block? If this is not working there will be no fuel delivered to the injectors. There are several other things to be checked before the ECU is considered, eg fuel pump, fuel filter which can stop the fuel delivery.
Is the vehicle in the hands of your local mechanic or are you doing this yourself? If the mechanic then he should know what to check.
If you do need an ECU after testingeverything else then give this firm a call: http://www.ecu-testing.com/ecu_testing.html. They can test and repair your ECU or supply a new one.
