i'm blessed with the joy of having to change my radio, since it is totally pooched. to do so i must bypass the factory amp, located under the dash below the steering column, and bypass the equalizer (maybe). what i need from you fine folks, is a color coding scheme of sorts. the amp has many wires comming out of it. most go to the speakers, the rest go to the radio, along with this thicker black multipin type plug that goes to my radio also. the back of the radio has a few wires going to the amp, one black multipin type wire going to the amp, and another black mutlipin type wire going to ?the equalizer? i'm not sure on that one. the amp is comming out. the old radio is comming out. the equalizer will stay there, either just to keep the hole filled, or to be actually used.
i can't figure out how to remove the equalizer
i don't know which wires go where comming from the amp
any help would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure if this will help or not it is for a 940 look and see if any of the colors are the same.
To get the EQ out remove the cover around the cigar lighter then the 2 screws. It will pull out then.
Most of the round(Din) plugs go from the radio to the eq and Amp.
You will have to cut the speaker wires at the Amp and wire to the new radio.
It is A PITA

hey! i spent the day de-wiring the amp, radio and equalizer, and cleverly figured out all my wiring woes. in order to figure out which wires were for my speakers, i used my meter and found the pins which gave me 4 ohms resistance, and then used a AAA battery to figure out which pairs of wires were for what speaker. all good. tomorow i get a new CD player to put in. the amp and old radio are in a milkcrate in my garage. the equalizer is going to stay there to fill a hole. problem solved.
