Default '96 960 A/C Problem in 100 Degree OK

I have read others posts on a/c problems. My a/c will not work. It has an open ground that has been jimmied into the power line to kick it on. The compressor kicks on for a short period of time then stops, even at full blast. It has freon in it. Just runs hot, compressor does not come back on after that. I do not know how this happened with the wires, It worked at one point....what is a girl to do? sacha

So, I turned on the a/c to check the power to the compressor. It never turned off to check it, but the freon outlet got frozen up with snow on it. The return never got cold at all. WHen we turned the engine off the snow disappeared and there was a hissing noise on the lower outlet tube and it appeared to be a leakage at the clamp or rubber mount to the body. Does anyone know what is going on? It is 105 degrees here in OKlahoma and i need to fix this...please.

That might be a torn expansion valve/Orifice tube.
But the pipe freezing sounds like a bad low pressure switch.

If it works, maybe it's a little low on the freon stuff. On my 850, the system was clogged and needed to be flushed out. Cost me about $650 for an used compressor and the labor. It blows about 48 degrees now.
