Default 96 960 Camshaft Position Sensor Removal

As the title states, any tips? Mine seems to be held in (aside from ground wires) by two Philips head screws... which i find super stupid based on how much space there is and the heat cycles the area goes through.... any easier ways to get them out? I'm worried about stripping them. I'm doing a head gasket and everything is going swimmingly until here. Can i get away with removing just the ground wires then popping head cover off? Seems impossible to get at with any kind of philips bit unless the engine is hoisted out.
Hopefully someone sees this and responds fairly quickly, grandma wants her garage back lol.

Got them, removed passenger side hose back there in fury (coolant everywhere), used a 1/4 wrench with a phillips bit thingy, going to buy some 6 or 8mil head bolts to replace the screws tomorrow, jesus.
