960 head gasket install
Go to the hardware store and get four heavy duty 6 inch "C" clamps, a 12X1.75mm thread chaser and a small short knapp paint roller.... Store the lash adjusters submerged in engine oil if the head is going to be off the car for a while. Patience is a virtue.
You must make sure that the crank is on it's own timing mark, when done correctly, all pistons will be below the deck and will be out of the way of any valves.
To do so any other way could allow a valve to hit a piston as you bring the head top down compressing the valve springs before bolting.
Hopefully you marked the cam timing gears to their cams and marked which one was the intake or exhaust.
Try not to use those small head top bolt to bring down the head top, they will strip very easily, if you do, then you must turn all 40 something the same 1/2 turn to bring it down ever so slowly. I used 4 clamps like the other poster suggested.
