Hello,
Changed the oil and filter in my 1997 960. Used 6 quarts of oil. Started engine and checked for leaks as I always do. I let it sit over night. Checked oil the next morning with cold engine. Dipstick reading is 1/2 quart low. Does this model need 6&1/2 quarts including filter?

Was this a stupid question? Am I in the wrong place? Somebody has to know this one.

 

6qts w/filter, 5.5 w/out

-but it's never an exact science. If you do cooling system or tranny you will be way off from what the capacities specify...

 

Did 6 qts w/filter. Guess I'll just settle for 1/2 way between the marks as my cold level.
