Hello All,

I need to remove the CCU unit in my 1997 965. As far as I can determine it involves removing a couple of screws on the bottom of the center console, ashtray, radio and storage compartments. Then with a trim tool carefully remove the trim, it looks like it will break easily. Then the CCU.

Am I missing anything?

I don't know what you mean with "storage compartments". The trickiest part is the 2 clips holding the trim -- you need to push them towards each other. Here are the instructions Instrument panel removal instructions on a Volvo 960.

When you have the ECC unit out (I guess you are re-soldering bad joints), I would change the bulbs too.
