My 960's sunroof will not slide open. It lifts for venting but when I try to open it, it moves just a little and stops.

So, I stood next to the car and reached in and flipped the switch. It seems like the driver side drops but the passenger side does not, it gets stuck.

I went to the passenger side and gave it a wack with the palm of my hand. When I did so, a piece of plastic fell from the track area and the sunroof did drop down more. Then I lifted up the sunroof for vent setting and remove the plastic piece that fell loose.

Once I got the piece removed the sunroof slid back as normal. I seen another small piece of black plastic there and removed it as well, along with some of the greyish plastic that came out of the slots that looks like a roller coaster track.

I guess there is some broken plastic parts that needs to be replaced. But as long as it still works I'm not going to worry about it right away. I'll post back if I get around to replacing some parts there.

If anyone has some suggestions feel free to let me know.

 

I don't know how I missed this thread? Anyway, if you haven't resolved this, the selector gates need replacing. That is where the plastic fell from.

I have the same problem. I have tried installing them but haven't had any luck. However, Tech gave the 411 on how to install them and when the Georgia weather decides to cool down I will install. I will post a follow up on my progress.

I'll have to check into that because I'm about to park my T-5R. So I'm going to fix the sunroof and the fuel smell within the next 2 or 3 weeks.
